Heidelberg SM 52 full colour Press for Shanowen

We have just installed a new Heidelberg SM 52 full colour  Press for Shanowen Files

The Santry headquartered company took delivery of the press from Portman Graphic in the first week in February and a Makoplatesetter, together with a Heights plate processor from Irish Print Support in late January 2016.

Shanowen Files employs 35 staff and is based in Santry, Dublin 9. It produces healthcare printed forms, medical folders, tabbed dividers, bespoke manilla folders and other commercial print products.
The press, which was installed last month, is in addition to the firms existing plant list and compliments its existing two B1 Heidelberg SORDs.
The business also operates a single colour GTO, a two-colour B3 Heidelberg GTO 52 and a Konica Minolta SRA3 four-colour digital printer. Shanowen Files also offers finishing services including folding, die-cutting, creasing and tab cutting.

“We have previously dealt with Jason O Brien in Portman Graphic on other projects which included a folding machine, and Horizon collator and a stacker. We have always had a good relationship with Portman Graphic” said Philip O’Reilly “their service and backup have always been second to none”,which is of the main reason we deal with them

Jason O’Brien of Portman Graphic commented, “We are delighted to have an excellent relationship with Shanowen Files who have always been a very progressive company, when we discussed changes in their work profile and the quantity of print they were having to ‘farm out’, Sean and Philip decided the best way forward for their business was to invest in a quality fourcolour B3 press.
Portman sourced the machine Europe, travelled to carry out inspection and print testing to ensure quality, the machine was installed in February and the guys in Shanowen have hit the ground running with it”.
